Browser-only processing
This page uses browser image APIs to decode, draw, resize, crop, compress, and export files locally. Unsupported formats stay on your device and return a local browser error instead of uploading anywhere.
How do you crop an image online?
Drop your photo into the cropper above, drag the handles to frame the area you want, and download the result — the whole crop happens in your browser, so the image is never uploaded. You can crop freehand or lock a preset aspect ratio such as 1:1 for profile pictures, 4:5 for Instagram, or 16:9 for thumbnails.
Cropping removes pixels outside the frame, which also shrinks the file. If you need exact final dimensions after cropping, resize the result; if you only need to know which ratio to crop to, work the numbers out first with the aspect ratio calculator.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Image Cropper private?+
Yes. The Image Cropper processes files in your browser, so the selected file does not need to upload to a server.
What files can I use with this Image Cropper tool?+
The tool accepts IMG files using browser-supported formats for this task. If your browser cannot decode the file locally, it will show an error without uploading it.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. The tool runs in a modern web browser and does not require an account, extension, or desktop app.
Can I change the PNG output settings?+
When the task supports settings such as quality, dimensions, crop area, or ratio values, the controls update the output locally before download.
Can I share my settings with someone else?+
Yes. Use the copy link button after changing settings. The URL stores tool settings, but it does not include private image files.
Will my last settings come back after reload?+
Yes. The tool saves serializable settings in local browser storage after you use the controls, while keeping image files out of storage.
